A good grass roots biker party.
Although this was my first time at this party they're in their 4rth year and going strong. Organized by the TN chapter of ABATE, their cause is of course repealing the TN state helmet laws.
It was a great little party with over 500 people showing up for the weekend. The campgrounds were beautifull, well shade with tons of camping space, a nice little stage, real washrooms, hot showers and even a little creek you could jump in and beat the heat. As far as locations go it doesn't get much better than this.
A bunch of stuff going on, including of course a bike show, biker rodeo games, rat races and of course some (suprisingly good) bands cranking out some tunes. And let's not forget the Saturday night men's sexy boxer shorts and women's wet tee shirt contest.
The wet tee shirt contest was kind of funny because somehow everyone forgot that the girls needed some tee shirts... you know, for the wet tee shirt contest? Oh well, whatch'a gonna do? Not to worry, they just simply lined them up in front of the stage and told the girls to ''go for it''. And go they did! Them girls are all troopers in my book.
The rat races? I had assumed before I went that it was some kind of rat bike dirt race or something... but they had actuall rats, which they placed in clear ball-shaped cages and ran down a little track! Must be a thing that they do up there in hill-billy land to entertain themselves during them long summer days...
The bands were GOOD, I really liked these guys called ROCKIN' FOOT CLUTCH, and they had STACIE COLLINS who I'm SURE we'll be seeing a lot more of at a bunch more biker rallies this summer.
It was a great little party, not too crazy and not too laid back. Old school, it's refreshing to see more motorcycles than rv's at a party nowdays. I went, I had a good time and it's definately on my ''to do'' list for next summer.

Bama bikefest summer 2007
July 12-15th, Forkland, AL
A great time, and one of the best rallies of the season so far.
The Bama bike fest is fast becoming one of the BEST rallies going on, and bar far the funnest thing I've found in Alabama. They had a shaky start a few years ago but trust me, this party is really kicking now!
Not your typical biker rally, the Bama bike fest always seem to have something going on for the people... wether it's a live band, drinking games, a bike show, rodeo games or whatever there's hardly a dull moment all weekend, unlike some other rallies that I shall be kind to and not mention by name. And of course having that big biker bar right here (with air conditioning!) is just the icing on the cake.
Let's see... for bands they had GENEVA playing all weekend long, a bunch of contests friday & saturday night, three different wet tee shirt contests including one that had a $1,000 first prize, a couple of chaps contest, a tatoo contest, drinking games with free booze, a bike show, saturday afternoon rodeo games, a nipple sizing contest, a couple of pickle sucking contests and they threw away about a zillion dollars worth of free stuff out to the crowd on & off all weekend long. Hell they had so much stuff going on a probably forget a few.
This is fast becoming one of my favorite rallies to shoot, simply because it's a lot of fun and everybody there's got a great attitude. Everybody's happy, everybody's smiling and kept mentioning all weekend long what a great time they were having... so I guess it wasn't just me.
If your reading this, you probably like the same kind of biker parties that I do. I'll tell you straight up you've got to go to a lot of rallies and travel long distances to find another rally you can compare with this one. A few thousand of the right kind of people showed up for this party and had a great time. Did you miss it? Don't worry, they've still got their final party of 2007 comming up in the fall... don't miss it, I'd bet my last dollar it's going to be a great time!
